Lotus 7 bits and pieces wanted.
I know this isnt the correct forum but I want to build a Lotus 7/Locost 7. I am trying to source the body work, suspensions and maybe even Toyota drivetrain.
Does anyone know anyone with stuff like this and maybe know where I can get it??

I was thinking of a 4age, Carbed with sidies, this keeps management simple so I wont need to take the car to anyone for completion except the custom driveshaft (Theoretically
).
I want to follow the "easy" build plan they have using ford parts as all the suspension parts are for ford uprights and calipers etc, but I'd like to use the toyota engine and gearbox as well as diff (I've heard that some Condors/Ventures came with LS units, ford only has open diffs....

The prices arent bad I think, and join the locost forums on that site, you'll see how helpful the people are, there is a guy that said the R20k starter kit cost too much, he said he could do it himself for 10k, he's at 12k now and hasnt started on the fiberglass, just finished the frame....Gary57 wrote:I have been on the locost site thanks, just dont want to spend R5000 on a few pieces of fiber glass.
Nice part is for the 20k you get a chassis with a SABS approval and a VIN Number, so registering is a breeze (dont quote me on that)
Where you getting your fame?

I want to go IRS from the sierra, nice and cheap and very common. The 4age motor is R4200 and the 20v is R3800 with throttle bodies (my sx would love the throttles).
My BIGGEST problem is the body panels, breaks my heart to pay R5000 for a few fibre glass pieces that prob only cost R400. Do you know anyone with a mould??
