I went to get new wheels fitted this afternoon. When they lifted the car the radiator started leaking. Kept on leaking till they finished and lowered the car it stopped leaking again. Now this is the weirdest thing I have seen happen to my SX. Any Idea's
When I inteprid your sentence, I would say it happened because the water leaked out completely. Once the car was lowered, no more water any more. It sounds like a joke for a moment, but surely I beleive you are serious and then it is weird??
No the water did not leak completely out I still drove home abot 6km. not even overheating. I topped up the radiator with water when I got home and checked below and no water was leaking out at all.
This is very strange I am not joking at all.
It seems my Radiator is still leaking just very slowly, guessing 1 drop every 3 min. Any one fix a radiator before? Need some advice on what to use and how to go about it. Prately Steel maybe??

gmmmff
Something like that! though I had no choice I've been driving on near slicks since January and I thought, hell if I need new tyres I might aswell have something nice to wrap them over.
It worked out to about R730 per tyre @ malas in pretoria.
Not sure if it was discounted, due to that I bought the whole package of rims and tyres etc...
On the radiator, its a tuffy, I have heard that one cant use these "radiator stop leak" products as our core is very thin and it might block the channels because of rust build up, then again, your water system was the cleanest i've seen in any car (other than a new car) before so you can maybe try it...
Worst case you might need to replace it... I reckon go to a radiator place and ask them if they can't fix it... maybe they can just weld the hole shut...
I have a new theory on what happend. After inspecting, feeling around, getting under etc.( and studying the service manual) I think that when they lifted my car the rubber mountings on the bottom of the radiator(connected to some part on the suspension) sortoff pulled the bottom tank open a little on the radiator, causing the leak. So if I'm lucky I might be able to fix this by either fastening the metal clips or using some sealent or something.Worst case Ill take it to a radiator place
Who knows what murphy thinks about it when I say:"I'll remove my Radiator on sunday morning to see whats going on"
Murphy thinks this must not be done so he pops my head gasket and gives me a big babalas. Basterd. I wrote:
worst case
Guess murphy reads this forum aswell.
Normally Id fix this myself until I saw all the things that need to be removed(cam belt) etc ..etc..
