Racing seats fitted (S13)

Post by Doctor G »

Finally got the seats fitted in the s13. Looks really good, BUT, as expected, they are sitting a little bit too high.

I notice that there is space to lower the driver seat, but the passenger side rail is right down against that 'bump' in the floorboard.

The only option I see to lower the passenger side seat is by removing the middle exhaust box and flattening that bulge in the floorboards with a 5 pound hammer.

I'd love to know how anyhone else managed to get their seats the correct hight?? :?: :?: :o

ummm mine is probably now 3/5cm higher than normal, but I like it now... Calibrator can also fit in the car, without the need to open the sun roof :D

Thanks guys.

The hight is not so much of a problem for the passenger, but as a tall driver the gap between the steering and the legs as well as between the roofline and the head has decreased quite a bit.

It is amazing what a difference 3 or 4 centimeters can make! :P :D

Gonna try and get the driver seat down a bit next week end and then I'll figure out something for the passenger side.

Q: I think on Vlade's car I saw the back seat was re-upholstered. Looked really good. Was wondering where it was done and how much that sets a personb back.

Make sure you date girls < 6ft

I can't see that there's a solution other than something drastic like you have in mind. Maybe cutting and putting in a plate to cover the hole is a better idea.

Maybe before doing all that check google?
