When I pulled off my discs to get measurement to get them made I noticed something wrong with the wheel bearing locking nut. When I tightened the nut there is nothing to space it to spilt pin. So there is nothing to keep the nut tight. What is it meant to go like?? Could someone maybe post the page from the FSM??
The nut was still tight when I took it off but its not a nylock nut nor a crown nut and I just think something is wrong.

there should be a place for a split pin to go in (a hole in the stub axle), but its not a castle type nut.
its also quite toight hey. i remember sheering a half inch drive stud off trying to remove that nut the first time i ever tried.
had to go buy a 3/4 long handle power bar and the appropriately massive socket!!!!

you tighten it to the recommended torque spec in the manual.
its quite a lot of nm's!!!
but thats the normal assembly.
the nut does tighten against the fancy washer. the washer cant rotate because of its slotted type hole, maybe thats why the nut wont turn loose.
the split pin is there for safety reasons then.
trust me you will feel a loose nut immediately.
