S14 Exhaust Manifold

Post by fuzz123 »

Howzit guys,

Does anyone have an exhaust manifold for the SR20DET with a place for the external wastegate..? or know where is a good place to buy it from.

The GT2876R that I bought needs an external wastegate as the internal one has been welded shut, so I need to modify a few things and part of my (obvious) shopping list will be the exhaust manifold + External wastegate.

I have gotten my first quote and I am waiting on some more, but I would like to consider all available options. [smilie=200sx_1eye.gif]

Thanks!

Dont bother modding a cast iron manifold it always cracks up from the heat, whats your budget on the mani i might beable to get you one for cheap and top mount or bottom mount.

Well look I am kinda new to the Turbo charged scene, so I do not know what a good price is.

I got quoted 4.5k for a fabricated one from ALB Performance, they never said whether it would be top or bottom mount though....(which would be the best though?)

At 4,5k i would rather import one looks better aswell and as for the mount position top mount is best as its much easyer to work on and gives the engine bay that "dont f%ck with look me" so i would recommend topmount think you can import an ichiba manifold for 3k very nice quality sly gxi imported one @ sly gxi im calling out for price on the mani please [smilie=200sx_2guns.gif]

Another question, I am right in presuming that the GT2876R uses the T3 flange?

I will make sure that the manni then fits the turbo, as this could have again ended horribly wrong.

Another Question guys,

What about the External wastegate...? Are there more common and less common sizes, or do they all fit in everywhere? I have read that you get 38mm and I think 40 something....does this mean I should first buy the manni, check the size of the external wastegate it would allow to be fitted on AND THEN ONLY buy the wastegate?

If you gonna build it, do it with steam pipe.

Sharp!

Ok guys so I got some ( actually a lot! ) of help from Riekert!

Thanks a lot bud !! [smilie=200sx_200sx.gif]

Depending if his manifold works, I should be sorted with the manni then next on the shopping list would be oil and water feed lines + an external wastegate :domo:
