Injector harness

Post by Draco »

How do I check whether my firing order of the injector harness is plugged in in the right order on a S13?

well it can actually just go in one way, unless you dismantled the thing

The harness connects in series by cylinders and not by firing order, the computer will fire them correctly.

Well the thing was unplugged before, the 1st 2 plugs does not have a real differance in length like the last 2, I am counting from the fire wall, number 3 and 4 shows u the length so that is easy, 1 and 2 is the same length....remember I am not speaking of the coils, I am speaking about the injector plugs

I don't know if I misunderstand you, are you saying the plugs can be put in any order and it would work the same...?

It needs to be in the correct order - 2^2 + 2^2 combinations = 8 combinations. Not 2 difficult

Good luck :!:

Check if the wires leading to the injector plugs are colour coded. Get some one with a CA18 to check their colours and compare :D

That sounds like a good idea...what if the colours does not match....there must be a way to take the voltage according to the CAS turning or something...I mean it is the CAS that sends the message for the injectors to open....am I being stupid here....?

here's my easy 20 step HOW TO:

1. open the engine bay
2. remove the CAS, but leave it plugged into your harness
3. go to the cockpit
4. turn your key (ignition) to the acc position, so that the car is not started but still has power running through it.
5. go back to the engine bay
6. slowly turn the piepie on the CAS
7. listen which injectors are firing
8. put the wires where they are supposed to be
9. turn the CAS slowly again to make sure
10. go back to the cockpit
11. turn the key to the OFF position
12. go back to the engine bay
13. reinstall the CAS
14. go back to the cockpit
15. turn on the car
16. make sure its idling
17. leave it on and go back to the engine bay
18. shoot the timing
19. go back to the cockpit
20. turn off the car and go test drive it!

The injector wires will have different colours. The only way to get a signal on the wires will be to crank the engin.... not even superman will be fast enough to manually match the spark/CAS to the injector pulse signal... me thinks.

Those wires have been in the same position for 15years, just lay them down they will go to where they should.

Turning the cas by hand wont tell you which injectors are supposed to be firing at all.

Check in FSM for wire colours and fit accordingly. If wire colours differ then find the relevent pins at the ecu and check what colour the wires are if thats doesnt work then a multimeter is your friend.
