A reminder to all members. If you need info on members like phone numbers, birthdays etc, dont forget to instantly access our interactive mobile cell phone application. I try to update all phone and contact details. If yours is still not with me, plse forward on a PM and I will update our cell p application with that info. Last night at the Wesbank event, I got hold of Charl's number in seconds. All you do is: save this number on your cellphone.*120*444*2000#. Dial with any cell phone and access the menu options. The phonebook is option 6. You can search with one , two or three characters or you can browse. Check out the rest of the menu as well. Be welcome to tell me how we can improve on this application.

replacement windshield is about R6000.00 from the agents. I know, I need one as well. I got no idea where else to find it.

From front wheel drive to rear & especially with a tail happy SX. Just take it easy first time round, you'll get to love this machine, but it commands respect. Driving like a pratt is going to cause more expensive & a f*cked up SX.

Now that would be said.

I took me 6 months of practice to drive at a sensible speed with my SX... after almost 5 years, I am addicted, totally 8) Still puts a smile on my face every day :) (except when I have to pay for parts  )

i see what you guys are saying, but paying for parts especially being a student gets a bit tough. this is not a good car for an adrenaline junkie, oh one question as far as i know my car is standard, but should it be able to go off the clock?

Yes, it should.
This is my 2nd SX & both reached 241km/h easy.

ok sweet, was worried that the car was over boosting. where is a good place to service my car, went to alpine performance, but they are special in the head. Gonna try NXGen, whats the verdict?

Get a workshop manual, do the service yourself. Easy and much much cheaper and only yourself to blame if things go wrong. Otherwise organise a braai and we will come help you

Is it just a basic service. Oil, oil filter, air filter, petrol filter & plugs? If so, just do it yourself. Much easier, more rewarding, & you know it's done right & doesn't comeback with 150 problems.

I'm servicing my inlaw's ausi this weekend, in alberton. If you want to join me & service your car at the same time, then dats cool.

That's okay oil, but it aren't the can of the best.
best oil, is mobil 1, or Castrol RS....racing synthetic.
Mobil 1 is used in Porsche's & racing synthetic on the racing v8's westbank.
my choice is the mobil 1.

i don't kow if you get this, but when I used to start my car in the mornings when it is cold, you hear like a tappet sound, that's because the oil hasn't gottern to the top of the engine yet, since I started using mobil1, I don't get that noise at all.
i got a bud that works at porsche here in randburg, they only use mobil 1 on the new twin turboed 911's........

how much does that stuff go for? i wanna run the best i can afford i dont want to screw up the motor. Where do you check the diff oil?

AMSoil ....

You normally check the diff oil level by removing the filler plug in the housing. That is also the level for the diff oil. Put 1 finger in and see where the level is at. Remember to park on a level area...

I pay about R300 for the oil.
The diff oil is checked at the diff itself. the is a bolt that you remove & pour the oil into. Only way to know it's full is when it starts coming out. :?

same with gearbox oil. I changed my diff oil & gearbox oil & it cost me R1000 just for the oil. It's called swepco, specially formulated to take higher stressess.

On my previous SX I lost the engine due to partly running the wrong oil. I have done research on this subject just so that sh*t doesn't happen again. I might be a cheapskate, but when it comes to da oil on my SX, I don't take chances.
