Hehe Sokar, on a COLD morning average IAT was 12 degrees I floored it and saw IAT temps down to 5degrees  . Now I have no doubt it would go lower but the w/m is set to stop injecting at 5 degrees via the Wolf. At that temp I would have nearly had frost on my intake mani  .

I have since changed the settings so the w/m wont stop injecting at a certain IAT  . Maybe this winter I can see 0degrees  .

Air that will freeze is also not good hey, the water vapor in the air aids combustion

VC... best of luck with that V-Mount man... you'll be the first :D

Jip, Vlade is right to cold air is not good either.

Why do you think they put that heater pipes into out TB...For very cold countries.

hey hanco - did you forget to add the cooling properties of the intercooler to your numbers??? or am i reading wrong.

i think your cooler must be defective!!! you might as well install a interheater!!!

NEway, this intake air temp thing. the gotech wiring harness has a sensor, but the manual alludes to the fact that its a outside air temp sensor. i've heard of some people fitting it into the intake so that it measures IAT.

this sound right???

Yeah but air doesnt freeze at 0degrees  . The water in the air would have but it would have the chance to form snow :( .

gary - i was hoping you would answer my question about the IAT!

go back a few posts to read it again.

I am sure you could use it, but why would to ECU want outside air temp?? Can you do any compensation with it??

yeah - i think that is the idea.

the manual suggests that you mount the sensor somewhere where the heat of the engine bay wont affect it, so that it gets a fairly accurate reading of ambient temps. then you can compensate for the temp on the day!

but i think this was designed with N/A cars in mind, not turbos.

and i've read of guys drilling out a water temp sendor and mounting the air temp sensor in that, and then screwing that into the intake pipe - so that they can get a reading of IAT nicely.

so i assume it can work both ways??? which is nice???!!!???
