1=check all vacume hoses they do pop off(there where the turbo is and the littel bugger behind the head)
2=check coil packs one is on its way
3=afm is maxing out

when its holding back does the car miss and then its like boom its gone and coz when my coil pack went it done that

Exactly like that. It misses a bit as if it's holding back and then it pulls like a demon again.

then i will put my money on a busted coil pack
but just check all vac hoses coz it can do the same thing
try and borrow or buy some spare coils and change them out

you can test the coil but its a bit shocking if you make a bobo while the car is running un screw a coil pull it out a littel bit and check how strong the spark shoots .all 4 must be mostly the same but if its very week its fukt

dont drive the car to hard with busted coil coz it is over feuling the cilynder with the busted coil.from when it started has it gotten worse and hapening
more often?

Yeah , it is happening more often and when it holds back it feels like the hanbrake is up now. Today so far it is running okay. I have only felt it once or twice , but it is definitely getting worse.

If I must be perfectly honest, it sounds like you have been driving my car !!

LOL

Everything you are describing sounds spot on. The smell of fuel , I put down to the 1 injector that has a very , very slight leak. I thought that was what I was smelling, the bit of fuel on the intake manifold.

So , now the fun part , cost of coil packs + - ?

Thanks for your assistance

I must also add that it only misses under load / boost . Normal driving she is fine.

Would a 200 Sabre / Sentra coil packs work ?

just for safety check the vac hoses the buggers do pop
Image

can only use ca18det coils there is 4
sentra only has 1
at nissan coils is like R1000 each
2nd hand R200-R500 each
keep an eye on the problem if it gets worse when hot and try fix it asap
before BOOOOOOOM

I just removed all 4 coil packs and tested the ohms and they are all giving exactly the same reading. I did notice that the insulation around the connectors on the inside wasn't to bright , so I sorted that out and the car is running 99% better now. I can still very , very slightly feel a little bit of a hold back through max boost , but allmost not noticeable.

Surely if one of the coil packs was faulty , I would have picked it up on the resistance readings ?

These coil packs are known to only get dodgy when hot....when cold all seems fine....

Have you pulled your plugs to se what they tell you?

The plugs had only done 2000 km's , but I replace them and the fuel filter again just for safety sake.

I don't mean you must replace them, I mean take them out and see whether they are carbon fouled.....read the plugs.....make sure you note what plug goes where....the see on what coil or so forth there might be a problem.

I replaced them 2 weeks ago when this crap started, so as to eliminate the basics.

The plugs are fine
