I am not here to do other peoples home work or guestimates...
What I can tell you is that if your only start boosting a GT30 at 5000rpm as earlier stated you have somthing SERIOUSLY wrong with your engine or managment / tuning ability,,,
Its not very difficult to have a 4000rpm band of 1.5bar boost on a SR20 GT30 combo.

I didnt reply to your question did I? Can you use it on a honda 2.0L? Sure, Ive had a GT35 at over 1.5bar on a B18 by 4500rpm, can you build your honda and tune it to preform the way it should with a GT30? I doubt it... If you could you wouldnt be asking me the question...Draco wrote:Great....then you don't know the answer to the question I asked....just say so....no need to get all twisted...easy answer...yes or no, but thanks anywayRAW wrote:I am not here to do other peoples home work or guestimates...

Ok... so realistically when will the turbo start spooling on a CA/SR? and what other mods will you need? It would be interesting to know.RAW wrote: Its a GT30 FFS people, you talking like its a T88

As for me building my honda...well bang on sparky, I can't, hope that gives you some satisfaction
As for answering my question if the turbo could be used, thanks, that's all I wanted to know
I wouldnt use it on a CA due to the lack of decent rods and the weak cranks, gearboxes, clutch's ectr ectr ectr.Riekert wrote:Ok... so realistically when will the turbo start spooling on a CA/SR? and what other mods will you need? Stock SR will spool it at 3500 and will be at 1bar just over 4000rpm in higher gears. depending on anything added to help it like cam's ectr will bring it in a bit earlier.
This is with good mapping obviously,
...
My turbo is larger than a GT30, spools up fast, when I say fast, I mean over 1.6 bar at 4200 to 4500 rpm.
That gives me, a comfortable 4000 rpm band to play with at that boost.
O ja, and it revs to 8500 if I want...... VTEC, naaaah, just a WELL built and tuned SR : )
I was very very worried that it would have too much lag... but realized thats a relative term.... Lag to in my meaning would differ from anybody else... I checked some other cars RAW built and took mine to him.
I prefer that slight bit of lag, as the car is actually more drivable if you just using it as a daily, like I am. More drivable then the GT28 I had, it actually spools for any simple reason, just cruising and it spools, constantly trying to boost boost boost, gets very annoying after a while.
apart from that, staying out of boost is great for my fuel consumption, almost got a solid 11 KM per L.
so it comes down to excellent drivability, and hey if you need go, it can do a 12.2 at nearly wet conditions at mild boost like we did when I fetched the car after Rezlo tuned it...... and wait for that 11 : )
