Johansx that is a brilient plan....why didn't we think of this before, guys I think this is the way to go.
Toby in my opinion you could buy a import engin and then we all gather and strip the broken part from that engin and repair yours, by the way I just remembered I have someone that did a engin change and we could maybe buy your part from him for cheap...let me know what you need then I can speak to the guy.
Speaking about that, I saw a previos post that imports are kak...this guy is one of a few others who did the import swop and wasn't disapointed. Even if the engin isn't that good it is always a source for parts.

Thats the article i wrote that has engine importers up in total arms threatening to sue Torque Mag because now that people are checking motors and realising they kak the guys arnt getting the sales.Ero_sennin wrote:Any body see the latest Tourque magazine. Small 1 page article on import engines and Part one of 200sx build up also, reason I bought it, any way back to engine article..... Seems 90% usually are rubish, might explain a few things. They gave some tips on what to look out for when buying a import engine, some real shocking info also on they way engines are treated in Japan. This might not be true but it makes sense when I look at my CA and I assume in S14RB25's RB25's case
I thinks Toby still has his original engine though, so Tuner might be to blame ?
Just a thought.
I wrote that article specificaly for Nissan SR20's go look on my site for un unsensored version with pics

Well, yes and no,
I Unfortunatly only import high end front clips like RB's 2jz's and so on with complete wiring harnsses, ecu's ectr ectr for swap purposes,
It wouldnt be worth your while getting a motor from me, I honestly charge a premium because I have to pay threw my butt to get them here from the US where i know they have been tested, ran, cleaned, and delivered looking brand new, with garanteeded low mileage and servise history.
Your best bet is to read the article (its on my site to) and go to an engine importer knowing what to look for, if you do that you should be a good motor
Now if you wanted to go SR20 or RB25/6 thats a different story, but not many have R40-R60k to throw aound.

I said sell the car.
And in my honest opinion you can’t buy one of these cars without having basic mechanical knowledge because the mechanics will make you pay
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m seriously not saying you don’t have any technical knowledge. I’m not looking for Sh#t, But with people like Rezlo, Calibrator ,Dislex ,me and sokar you have the support group and the technical knowledge base to help you, Rezlo can find you almost any part and his damn honest when it comes to what works and what doesn’t.
Look this is my opinion so take it or leave it, but I wouldn’t trust anyone with my car you can ask sokar everything on that car was done by me including re-building the head twice and with every modification I have done I haven’t spent more then R10-000 on everything.

You forgot to mention Vlade. He has skills aswell.
ie. Project D
I'm Trying to learn the skills aswell, as mechs do charge alot.
So far I have fixed a few things my self but nothing too major, still learning.
Its just some things are a little harder to do eg. Engine removal or internal things etc...
But Phinx I do agree with you about the support group

I recently bought a nice engin stand. Next is an engine crane. I make a point to do things myself, and then use the money I saved to buy tools etc. to make the job easier next time.... patience... but I am getting there. My next project, for which I need the engine crane and the heavy duty stand, is to put a Patrol 4.5 straight six into my Safari 4x4. The 2.8 six is not up to turning those big wheels anymore. The challenges will be the fabrication of the new engine mounts, cross-members and the electronics. Luckily I've got the Patrol service manual... and lots of knowlegable friends.
For this project I will take the cab off the chassis....
