Rocker stoppers only prevent damage, doesn't prevent failure...but it is cheaper than the vvl head conversion.

Ask Jerry from import parts - from actual experience - Quincy's car threw a rocker with rocker stoppers and it pretty much broke everything... so it helps a bit to prevent it climbing off and but once off it will still cause alot of damage.

So what you are saying is rocker stoppers are pretty much useless? I'm not disagreeing with you, its just my first hearing of a rocker causing damage with stoppers in place.

Personally I don't run stoppers but I will if I ever need to do anything in the head then I will install because I am there. The vital part is the oil spray bars, I always replace them. My engine is on the limiter for 2+ years drifting with no issues related to the rockers (touch wood).

Well I run stoppers too but also so did quincy and he still threw a rocker off- as per Jerry.
well considering that stiffer valve springs are required to run big cams I thinkit is possible that with enough rpm and possibly a hydraulic lifter failure can cause a rocker to come off and actually cause damage. The VE rockers are attached to the oil tube at the back and that also ensures that it cannot come off or misalign. That said a shim can also come out and cause huge problems. - all I am saying is that although rocker stoppers does help safeguard stuff it is not fail proof and damage can still occur. However it is a bit less likely.

had rocker arm stopper on my S15 with HKS head package no problem,
on the S14 no rocker arm stopper nearly stock head also no problem,
but nissan point out the SR20det head is the main problem espicially the rocker arm failure,

my ca threw all the rockers out the exhaust haha
