Thanks boet ,that is already being done...Almera discs with 3mm skimmed off by the engineers, fit SX 100% and did not end up paying a fortune R700 altogether
Now T-cam, once the Almera's is skimmed down 3mm, is the specs then still better of than s13. What I am thinking off is less material more heat any way.Is it still ticker, wider etc? If so then this is very interesting.

The disc was too thick, the calipers would not fit back on with the pads so the 3mm was taken off so everything could fit back

I understand that, but what I need to know is there more metal surface after skimmed. No use we end up with less material. I can skim any discs.
In other words, the specs must be better after 3mm down compared to s13?

I assume we have to compare specs on paper first. Thanks

dont think there will be - the disk has the same diameter I reckon, so the surface is the same - (otherwise calipers wont fit)

Surface should be the same, but what about the depth of disc material? How much depth is there on a normal disc anyway, after which you can't skim the disc any more? I'm sure it's like a few mm's. Which means, losing 3mm of depth off a new disc might make it last far less 'cos there's only like another 2mm left or something.... just a thought...

Agree! Not good idea

Would rather try and source disks that fit.

Agree 100%, The factory width of an S14 disk is 30mm, the minimum "repairable" width (according to the manual) is 28mm, I measured mine yesterday.... 26mm... and they're warped... :( If I even think of skimming I'm looking for kak.

Like I keep saying, if I ever find that previous owner, I'll kill him.

maybe you should just've have waited for the right car :(

things add up pretty quickly - i've had a car previously that needed a LOT of attention :(

Your best option will be rezlo quite honestly - he will prolly be able to get the OE units for less than your local mr nissan. Or of course there's teh direct fit brembo's not sure what they go for tho...
