i think the loop is to give the clutch a dampened feel. with it removed, your clutch should feel more direct and responsive.

i am sure nissan thought this would be an old man's can and not a street racer/drifter.

on all the forums i have come accross they recommend this loop to be removed.

VC, Hotstuff, Sokar, just to mention a few always say remove this.
