Don't know about aftermarket coils, but I have seen guys run HT leads.

I think Gremlin is running HT leads. Am I right Derek? You remember we pulled the wires to do the compression test on his engine. I know Gremlin is busy with some exams until the 7th Nov, but then he can tell us about the HT wires.

Because I know those coils cant give a good strong spark at high boost, spark quench. So it might be more feesable to put HT leads?? I would far rather put stronger individual coils backs, its just more "standerd" :D .

Gremlin has HT leads because he has a management system, it only works with one coil now.

I am totally lost. My car is still missing slightly, when it’s under slight load at about 2300rpm it starts to miss. If you floor it, it goes like hell with no misses. It is exactly like the plugs are fouling but I have changed them to STD ones. If you can imagine driving a NA car with a heavy cam, when you rev too low its like you missing but when you get the revs up it goes like hell. I gave the car a good burn the other day and straight after that it was 100%. I gave it a run because it was missing so bad that it felt like the car was going to break down. When I first started to burn it, it was even missing at high rev 5000-6000rpm.

Now to me if it were a coil pack it would break down at high rev but be fine at low rev, so in my every day driving I would even notice it. My dad says it’s because I drive like a granny and I’m killing the motor. So I tried to drive like you would a NA car, rev it to 3000rpm before you change and try keep the revs there, I got 6.25Km/L or 16L/100Km. I have tried advancing the timing, making it richer but nothing has helped.

Gary is your problem sorted yet?
If so what was the problem?

I just gave it a good burn. it has gone but comes back every now and then. I think I have a coil pack dieing!!

NOW the car is jerky when you accelerate off idle or very slow traffic driving  . I dont know why :? . I retarded the timing, didnt work :( . I richened it, didnt work :( . I adjusted the TPS, didnt work :( . I bought a WOLF3D EMS    , havent fitted it yet but hope that will work.

This is probably not gonna help you, but mine did that when there was water collected around the spark plugs - misses on low revs, but fine at higher revs. I had to remove the spark plugs to get rid of the water (after 3 weeks there was still water there!! it doesn't dry up on it's own).

It could well be water, just amazine that water can get in but steam cant :? ?! Anyway water would not cause the car to be jerky off idle, its normally timing to far advanced or running to lean, BUT on mine its non of these.

Gary this is a wild shot but I had a similar problem. My car was overfuelling at low revs. It would kill plugs with fuel also on startup most times.
The problem was due to the water temp sensor situated on the front of intake manifold. Identify the switch by its yellow colour. What was happening on my car was that because this sensor was not reading it did not supply any signal to the CPU and therefore the CPU responded with MAX fuel at low revs.
Removed the switch and found it to be dirtywith green build up. Clean that off and the problem was solved.
Use it don't use it type of thing. Worth a check cause I heard that this is a common problem.

That could very well be the issue of my miss fire. Where exactly is that sensor??

I still have the problem of it being jerky off idle  .

That sensor is situated in the front of the engine. If you facing the engine have a look just behind the timing cover on the left side. You need to have a carefull look there as there are 2 plugs. 1 is a single wire on a black plug and the 1 you are looking for is a YELLOW plug which is bigger with the metal clip. You basically have to lean over the timing cover to see it.
