Spark Problems - sorted out!

Post by Skymac »

Hi Guys

New to the 200sx game!

I am busy doing my nut. I bought a 200sx CA18DET that had thrown a conrod through the main bearing plate and sump. Thanks to Riekert I am gonna be able to salvage the original motor but in the mean time I have bought the same motor from Turbo Toys. I have put everything back together again and time to start - she don't! The starter turns but it seems like the fuel pump is not running, there is no spark and there doesn't seem to be any power to the crank angle sensor. Help - where do I start looking to sort this problem out? I have checked all the fuses and relays and they all seem to be ok! As far as I know the car was running fine until it threw the conrod! Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Next I also need a vacuum hose diagram that makes sense (no catalytic converter and canister).

Thanks guys!

Hope to have another 200sx running soon in Roodepoort!

Spark Problems Sorted Out!

Ok - if there was a "Jackass of the Month" award - I GET IT! To cut a long story short - I had the engine bay painted and the guy who did it didn't reconnect the plugs and earth at the relay box under the air filter and intercooler pipes.

Once I reconnected those and everything else to get there - one turn on the key and my new baby came to life instantly! Now I just need to the hydraulics on the clutch sorted out and my Christmas present is running!

Well that is my story - stupid as it is - but now I have a running car!

After flying around the place this christmas I decided to stay home today and pamper my new baby - gave her a fat bath, vacuum and general cleaning! Even put in my new parcel shelf that I got from Jason and it looks great.

Gonna get all my paper work together and put up a list, prices, and dealers for cambelt service kit, clutch kits and a few extra that I managed to source (Will also include what the Nissan Stealership quoted me). :P
