Need help with 200 sx 18t

Post by Saiteck »

Hi guys I’m new on the form so I hope I posted in the right place

I have a question and wonder if any one can help me out

I have a 200 sx 18t 1996 I think it’s a s13

I have had a never ending turbo problem in the last month. I went through 3 turbo’s and they just keep ceasing. My mechanic cant seem to find the prob so I have decided to buy a non turbo engine

But im not sure what I can use. I was thinking of a STI 200 motor; will it work?

Or what other option do I have?

Thanx

Called him just to make sure and he did replace with new braided lines

Just don’t know what the prob is.

That’s way I was thinking of just putting in another engine.

Cant see how that will make too big of a difference? What about the mechanic? If he is the result of 3 turbo's... I would get someone else to do your car for you, maybe he is not meant to work on an SX, Motor transplants goes for about R50k, Except for the SR of course. which is still not a cheap conversion.

Just my 2c.

Well maybe last resource would be to take it to Nissan work shop.

But would love to drop a 200 STI motor in there just don’t know if it’s possible

STI motor being FWD and SX RWD

Has something like this been dun be for?

(I can get the motor for 9000)

I had my motor rebuilt when the crank buggerd out. I had a new oil pump fitted my turbo went said I had oil starv but that wasn't the case best thing is get a 2nd opinion and speek to guys who deal with turbos and see what they say couz it sounds wierd that u can have an oil starv but your motors bearings don't cock out

Not possible, but maybe you are thinking of the SR20DET motor, that came in the S14?

Nissan Stealership is going o cost you probably more than you paid for the car!
