Redtop swop

To all the intelligent forum members.....

How much would need to be changed if anything at all if I were to swop my red top SR20DET for the black top ? I have an aftermarket management system fitted, so would anything need to be changed or could I just swop and then dyno ?

I would also fit the aftermarket turbo that I am running now onto that motor.

Also if I am not mistaken there are 2 black top motors ....1 is the VV -whatever ?!

The IC pipework on the intake side, engine bay loom & ecu (if you are running a standalone aftermarket system this may not be needed, but I'd do it just to be safe)

Okay , maybe I should have mentioned that it is fitted to my S13 , so it is allready a mod.. I have a standalone management system.

So basically moving around a couple of pipes is all that it will take ?

if its a s13 black top then will fit but if it a s14 blacktop then intake diff and diff plugs

As far as I know the blacktop engine loom is fairly different to the red top (the plugs), so you will nee dto re-do or replace your engine bay loom with one for a redtop

Okay ...well maybe I should just leave the bloody car alone then ....there isn't anything wrong with the motor that is in there , I just thought that maybe the blaktop motor was a bit stronger, could take more of a punch .
