Clutch bleeding problems on s14. Help needed

Post by goved5 »

We recently replaced clutch on my s14, bled the clutch and it was taking gears. Drove it a bit and the pedal hit the floor whilst pulling off. Pumped the clutch the same time and it was engaging gears. Took it home, tried to bleed, drove it again and it went soft again and not engaging, we replaced slave cylinder seals and tried bleeding but no luck, There is no visible leaks on the master and slave cylinders, what could be the problem?Anyone had a similar experience? We followed manuals on how to bleed so we not sure what it could be. :?

you bleed it the same way as brakes. You open valve and have someone push down on the pedal 1/2 - 3/4ths way. If there is air, u'll see it sputter out instead of come out as a smooth stream. Have the person hold the clutch pedal. Make sure he/she does not release the pedal any or else u'll suck in air. While the pedal is beind held, close the valve. Now you may release the pedal. Repeat until there is no more air or fluid in the system and fill her up.

did You do it this way

Did you definitely bleed as per the manual. ie. at the damper as well (between the master and slave cylinder)?

It's a nightmare to bleed, so do what I did and bypass it with a braided clutch line, it's unnecessary.

This is a bitch to do, the easiest way, open up the bleeding nipple at the slave cylinder only and get yourself a big syringe or something to apply pressure on top of reservoir and force the fluid thrue the system !!!.

You can get a very thick syringe at any chemist, it works great, just use insullation tape on syringe , until it fits very snug on your reservoir !!.
