Hi Guys,
I know alot was covered in previous threads but I though to have the following info in 1 thread might be helpfull to newbies, Like myself. I mean I have looked for hours and still cant find what I really want to know.
Questions:
1. Name a few places that stock makes like TEIN / NEX / BC where I can get a set for my S13?
2. Roughly what can I expect to pay for each make in both dressup and coilover style?
3. If Coilovers are chosen, who can I go to to set them up nicely?
3.1. What type of maintenance costs are involved with coilovers?
4. Cost wise what works out cheaper? Dressup's with new shocks, or coilovers?
5. Where can I get things like Energy Suspention Bushes and how much do they cost roughly?
6. What else would I need to look at buying to improve the ride quality ?
Thanks Guys.

coilovers wont improve "ride quality" they will make the car less comfortable but much better handling, i personaly would go for coilovers, but if you just want the car to be lower and for looks etc not so much the handling then springs and such will do the job.
my opinion...
sry dont want to hijack ur thread but are NEX coilovers any good any1?
sorry

coil overs
tein/nex/megan/xyz you would have to usually order from overseas, sometimes there is stock.
fully adjustable coil over from tein/megan.... are around 12-16000(exchange,shipment,ect)
coils are easy to adjust, suspension setup all depends on the type of ride you want.
energy suspension you can usually get localy.around 2k
for more info you can pm me.

Wynand for BC - Good Price, Good Quality and local support.1. Name a few places that stock makes like TEIN / NEX / BC where I can get a set for my S13?
Coilovers2. Roughly what can I expect to pay for each make in both dressup and coilover style?
BC - R8500
Tein and the like - R12k+
Dressup
KYB shocks + Tein springs - R8k
KYB shocks + Megan ect - R7-8k
Stock Nissan - R12k 0_0
Well most wheel alignment places that know what they are doing will be able to set them, otherwise a tuning company that specializes in track cars?3. If Coilovers are chosen, who can I go to to set them up nicely?
Donno... But shouldn't be that much... Wynand? anything here?3.1. What type of maintenance costs are involved with coilovers?
Coilovers - R8.5k vs R8k - Dressup + shocks4. Cost wise what works out cheaper? Dressup's with new shocks, or coilovers?
Thats why I went for BC coilovers, much more adjustability and pretty much the same price
Few ppl has imported them goes for around R2k depending.5. Where can I get things like Energy Suspention Bushes and how much do they cost roughly?
Strut bars and the like to firm up the ride. You can go as far as full adjustable suspension goodies but that can get expensive and hard (on your kidneys) on the road. thus loosing quality.6. What else would I need to look at buying to improve the ride quality ?
I've had my coils for around 4months now... I think

But it all depends... I would vote for coilovers hands down.
@wynand - Still need to chat to you about the springs

RB25SX - I think I will be chatting to you in the near future, as soon as my car is back. Shouldn't be too long now hopefully.RB25SX wrote:We can supply new BC Coilovers for S13 @ R8500. Can change spring rate at no extra cost if u want softer or harder.
RIEKERT - Thanks for the expansion on everything, I think my mind is now firmly made up..
So here it is, looking like spending the R500.00 extra on the BC's is gonna be the way, just need to get to 2 purpose designed settups for the car. Along with a set of Energy's and some strut braces and sway bars I should be looking at about R12 000.00 all together?
I think this is one for the stikies guys, newbies will definately be reading this up ofter. We should all maybee add places, contact details, prices, etc. as we come across them too.
Thanks guys. (Will keep updated)
