This is a tough choice for me as i have had a 30 and 35 , I loved the boosting from 2800rpm of the gt30 but we are all the same and you will want more eventually so the gt35 would be my choice for you ,Spool up from 3000rpm or so and full boost at about 5500rpm .If you only want road usage and not more then 450hp then the gt30 is great
The price difference is small
Im sure you have heard this all before but get what the application ( daily/track etc ) is needed .

what boost you doing to only get full boost by 5500rpm?
GT35R with .63A/R T3 will give u very little lag and great potebtial for more power. Much cheaper to buy a bigger exhaust housing if needed than a bigger turbo.

If i set the the boost to 2.0 bar by mistake like i did on the way back from Saldahna it reached 2 bar at 5500-6000 rpm things were happening a little quickly to be 100% accurate
@ 1 bar its full boost there i know for sure
Shane's GT35R has a .82 A/R T3, wich will give it more lag, .63 A/R will give u what u want. I had a T3 .63 A/R on a T66 on RB25, reached 0.7 bar at 3700 rpm, wich it was running at the time (265kw), GT35R has a better spool up, and smaller (T61 size) wheel.
As per dyno print, the lower flat torque curve was with T66 T3 .63 A/R.(RB25) Gave a very nice broad torque curve, very little lag for the size of the turbo. (that was the nicest turbo combo i ever had on a RB25 )

Looks like GT35 with a 0.63 is the way to go. What size wastegate were you riunning to keep the boost under 1bar?
Gary57 wrote:@RB25SX, what rpm do you think the GT35 with AR63 housing could reach 1bar?? And when in boost what lag would you have when changing gears??
Cant say what rpm, but my experience with differant turbos, i think that will give u the best responce and the most in reserve for future upgrades. U should have almost no lag between gears with that turbo. Garret B/B turbo's are very good, spool fast and make great power.
I have learnt with turbo's to decide what u want, pick the turbo that will work best........ and then buy one size bigger. If u want 450hp, a GT3071R is great (rated to 480hp) but u are close to the max of the turbo. GT3582R (rated 600hp) with the right size exh housing might give u 200-500 rpm more lag, at the expence of 120hp extra. Price differance is so little that if u buy a new Garret turbo, make sure u buy with a little bit in reserve. Just my 2c
