No oil presure

Post by emile Rademeyer »

I drove my car with oil pressure into my garage to put a newly gasflowed head and branch and ball bearing turbo on. After completing the job I have no oil pressure. I checked the wire, gauge, and no oil in tappet cover please help

I would check the oil feed to the turbo to see if theres enough restriction and then the pump.

from the info given first thing i would ask , is it your original head?
if so was it skimmed or just gasflowed? sounds like the oil feed to the head is blocked, either by skimming (skimming process messes up the restrictor if not removed) , headgasket may be wrong way round, or not the right one for your aplication, if its a different head, maybe the oil pasages dont line up, ect.

bottom line is that it sounds like your oil flow to the head is restricted or blocked. it is unlikely that the oilpump is not working if you did not disturb the bottom end. hope this helps

Even if your head does not get oil, the pump should pick up oil and have oil pressure (pick up from the sump, not the head) Turn out the oil pressure unit on the side of the block , remove plugs and spin the motor, if u do get pressure on the block its a gasket or head problem, if there is no pressure on the block, its a oil pump or pick up problem.
