Management system wise. I would keep the stock management if possible. If you are gonna keep the motor stock for now there is no point in destroying the loom for a dicktator system.
I also have a S13 with a SR20DET VVT motor. But Im running different cams a few other mods. Tried making the stock system work but my loom was so hacked up I could get it running. So then I opted for the dicktator system.
Goch and Cooper did mine, however I dont think they install systems anymore. They will only tune it. Best bet after them would be Dynotec in Brackenfell.
If I where you, and this is what I wanted to do:
Go with the stock management system. Save up some cash and the first mod you do is buy the Apexi FC Commander management system. Best money you will ever spend!
Send it up to PE to Rezlo (Ian) to get it tuned. Then start to mod your SX. It will save you loads of headache and cash! Just do yourself a favour and read up on the Apexi system and speak to some guys that already have it on their cars.
Dont get me wrong, dicktator is a great local system. I cant complain, except for the cold start that needs to be worked on a bit.
Just my 2c...

OK, I now have confirmation of pricing, I am not going to be paying R19100 after all, and not getting a new Radiator either, but I will be paying as low as R17500 for everything I mentioned before excl. Radiator . . . .veecee wrote:wait...POWDER wrote:Umm, I'm sitting at a total of R19100.00 as a total, This includes VVT Motor, 5 Speed Gearbox, Dictator FMS, Installation, Dyno & Possibly a new Radiator if I play my cards right, currently busy with the deal....veecee wrote: i meant with everything above board and legit! so all your shady dickwad girlpantz deals you made automatically exclude you!

Hi guys, well the s14 vvt front cut is ordered and will take 14 days to get here and I can't wait, reminds me of the night before xmas years ago. Was wondering if any of you on the forum with the vvt motors are experiencing the dreaded vvt rattle. I hear there are many on the net complaining of this on both low and high mileage motors.
Many leave it and bear the noise and many replace the cam with a non vvt one.
Can aftermarket ECU's (local units) control the vvt properly when running higher boosts, I have heard that this cannot be done successfully.

Hi Guys,
So this is how it is going so far, Antman, this should answer your question too.
The CA18DET & GB has been removed & the SR20DET + GB has been installed. Since the SR20 GB from Japan Auto didn't have a thrust bearing or spline ring, I used the ones from the CA18 GB.
What Motor did I end up going for? The Blacktop NON VVT, reason for this is that through some advice I found out parts for the VVT are a bit of a mission to get hold of. Went for the 5 Speed gearbox coz everyone sais the 6 speed is no good past 200KW.
Fit with no problem, mounts perfect.
