The Race-ist film shoot day invitation

Post by Spyke »

Hey guys, just received this, I'm going to be there (I'm part of the crew), thought some of you may be interested - sorry if it sounds like spam.

FROM THE CREATORS OF THE RACE-IST.

--------------------------
MASSIVE SHOOT DAY!

We're gonna make it look like an Expo and roll every camera we can find.

This movie will be shown all over the world, we want to show off South Africa as the coolest, hottest, sexiest, craziest country on the planet!

By making this big shoot day as crowded and colorful as possible, we will have one of the biggest large crowd scenes ever shot in South Africa!

Venue will be The Rock Raceway in Brakpan.
Sunday the 9th August 2009 (provisional)

More details to follow soon.

Thanks so much for your support.

Andrew.

--------------------------

So bring your cars and your ladies along to The Rock for a big expo style event and be a part of this feature film. Car clubs are welcome to bring along their banners and gazebos to show off your club. Spread the word and invite as many people along as possible – the more the merrier!

OK, it's confirmed!
Sunday 9th of August 2009 Our Massive Shoot day. 10AM to 5PM
(Big shoot scenes will be in the morning until about 13h00 or so).

Howzit folks.

Please copy this message and send it to as many people as you possibly
can: Reword it to suit your database and include your own logos if you
will be there on the day!

SUPPORT THIS AMAZING LOCAL FILM! IT’S GONNA BE BRILLIANT!

We are currently filming an exciting local film based on the vehicle
modifications and quartermile racing industry. The movie is called
‘The Race-ist’ and is due for release on the 11 December 2009 at
Cinemas nationwide (Distributed by the amazing Nu-Metro).
The film stars DJ Fresh, Kurt Darren, Ian Roberts, Jonnie Pienaar,
Nicole Smart, Liezel van der Westhuizen and many other great actors
and personalities.

Check out the website and trailer at www.therace-ist.co.za

On Sunday the 9th of August 2009 we will be filming our major race
finale scene. We need approximately 5000 extras with cars, Bikes and
all things bright and cool to really show off how cool our country and
it’s people are. Unfortunately, paying for 5000 extras would cost
ridiculous amounts of money… So what we are doing is hosting an expo
at the Rock raceway in Benoni on Sunday the 9th of August 2009.

(Extras on a movie are the people in the background to fill scenes).

We will charge a small fee (20 bucks per person) at the gate to cover
the expenses of the venue owners and all the logistics they have to
activate to cater for such a big crowd. Bring Picnic baskets and
Braais and stuff like that… we want to show off the spirit of South
Africans to the rest of the world!

We will be filming bits and pieces of the event while we shoot racing
scenes with our stars on a specially tarred, sunken Quartermile track
on the premises. You can expect to see very cool stuff there, from
supercars to drifting to funnycars and FHM girls… We’ll be filming
scenes with Kurt Darren and DJ Fresh.. and so forth and so forth… Make
sure you are there, it’s going to be very exciting!

If you would like to be an exhibitor at this event please contact Anne
at rocking@rockraceway.co.za
We aren’t looking to make a profit off the event so exhibitors will be
charged very low prices to cover costs. It’s a massive opportunity…

Details of the Venue are below or at http://www.rockracing.co.za/page.php?3
Thanks a Mil! See you there!

Directions(Di "rock" tions)

Getting to The Rock is pretty easy no matter where you are coming
from! Yes it's in "The Pan" but it's only a 35min hop from Sandton.
(Unless Tim "V12" Stephens is driving in which case its only 10mins!)

You need to get onto the N3 if you are coming from the north or south.
When you happen upon GILLOOLYʼS interchange, you want to follow the
signs for the N12 WITBANK. This is the same junction as if you were
headed to the airport.

>From PRETORIA, it is quicker to take the R24, cut through BENONI and
then hang LEFT onto SNAKE ROAD.

If you live in the East Rand, get yourself onto the N12.

Once you are on the N12, you head straight till you get to "SNAKE ROAD".

When you are on SNAKE ROAD (turn RIGHT when you come off the highway),
you will be looking out for MAIN REEF ROAD. At the fifth set of
traffic lights hang a LEFT onto MAIN REEF ROAD move over to right hand
lane travel straight for +- 3km.

You will go under a bridge and then you want to look out for The Rock
on the left.
Easy!

Massive thanks to Nu-Metro, Big Boss Auto, Autostyle Motorsport, Neo
Africa, Billabong, Heat, FHM, Speed and Sound Magazine and all our
other amazing partners for making this beast possible.. very very
exciting stuff!
