free flow exhast on RB20 motor?

Post by godzilla »

hey guys what are the issues with having a short free flow exhast with no boxes, the do's and donts on the exhast side for an RB motor? It will be running fairly stock except for a rb 25 turbo and fmi ,dictator . It will only be driven to and from the track (and hopefull on the track) size?length? box,no box?
i have driven a Rb25 with no boxes sounds mad but will it hurt the motor when i abuse it?

well Rezlo runs a shorty when he drags... basically a pipe from the turbo straight down to the road, can't be more than 50cm in length.

Don't think you need any boxes... it will just be seriously not nice to drive because of the noise.

I think most will agree, a turbo car does not require backpressure as a na car does and so a short straight through will not damage the motor but will dent your wallet when the metro pulls you over on the way to the track.
What do you recon PFB?

Agreed ...

The best exhaust for a turbo car is no exhaust, But there wont be much to gain over a correctly set-up 76mm system with one or two box's.

I have a screamer-pipe on my car and believe me its only fun for about two months then it starts annoying you

so no boxes, just a big ass pipe exiting the side,i like as much noise as possible, the crowds love it, ill cruise to the track, like under 60kmh,cause the think=g will be as low as i can go. im even doing a body drop for the illusuion of it being even lower......
