RB GEARGOX

Post by godzilla »

iam looking for a box to mate up to my Rb20.i was told that a CA18 will fit directly can anyone confirm this? I was gonna go the 21R box but still need a bell housing, what else will work and still have good ratios, this will be used (abused) in drifting, burnouts, dounuts, gymkhana etc.....
I have a VG30 backie box( strong as hell) but the bell housing cant seperate from the box???? so my options are.....
get rb box - very expensive
CA18 box- might not work or need a bell housing
21R box - still need bell housing
Swop out internals of vg30 into a workable casing?!!?!?
get new eraskyline box- manual boxes are scares?!?!
help?
AND can a ca18 box work on aN SR20 and vice versa???

Depends on how much power the motor is pushing out,

The RB20 box can only handle up to 300wkw,Thats were mine broke
Have the RB25 fat box now ,Bullitproof

If below 300wkw ,Any import place can help you with a RB20(thin box).

The CA18 and SR20 boxes but wont take over 300wkw.

You should be able to mate the fat RB25 box to the engine if the RB20 box fitted as they are interchangable ,That will be the strongest option ,They cost R6500.00 at any import shop,The lenth of the fatbox is 800mm,thats the one you want ,I know its expensive but its worth it as you wont have anymore hassles with broken boxes.

the motor will be fairly stock,.6boost max, will only be running RB25turbo,and freeflow exhast, but definatly under 220kw,im not looking at high power figures. R6500 is alot for a box,ill spend that when i go Rb25 or26 in the future,I am in capetown at the airport, ill definatly look at a old skyline box...... thanks guys
