Is it just me or are the prices climbing on the sx's. They use to go for around R45000.

What bothers me though, is why is there so many sx's for sale lately? Why are all the sx owners selling their cars?

I think it's because they're getting old and starting to give problems. Peolple are afraid to spend $$$ on old cars because you never get it back.

And they know someone with bucks will pay what ever to buy the sx for drifting. So a good time to get the sx in the market. Also positive wright ups in magazines on 200sx drifting capabilities.

And then of course this Forum... hmmmmmm???

to add to all the food for thought on this topic:

http://www.japan-partner.com/list.php?search=silvia

thats a simple search for silvia (because i am heavily biased).

when i checked yesterday the s15 wasnt even there. it appeared on the site in the last 24 hours i reckon, unless i searched differently.

my point is an s15 is US$10 000 - thats only 70 grand or so.

the others are US$1000-2000 for the s14's. thats less than 20 grand.

they dont even list s13's!!!

skylines are about 2-3k dollars for the r32...

you get the idea...

i am one of those 20% of people that would never buy new!!!

I will buy new if I plan on keeping the car standard but if I'm looking for a project car then I'll buy secondhand, pref with a clean body.

even if i plan on keeping the car standard, i will buy one used with low mileage rather than new.

i got a bargain with the xtrail - a 2005, 2.5 4x4, with 30k on the clock, with new extras paid for by the dealer, like brand new tires, running boards, seat covers, etc

for 180k, book value at the time was 235k.

thats why i never buy brand new!
