They dont use a piston arrangement but rather a series of valves. Yeah they do sound cool but by no means can they expell the gasses fast enough nor enough gas on a high hp car.
They make a nice noise that is all.
PS: You shouldnt be venting that air to atmosphere if you are still running a MAF.

i know i know but cant resist the sound i have the rec fitting but i like the sound hahahha
