Anyone using a CAS to trigger Perfect Power XMS?

Post by griffithcontrols »

Curious what your settings are and what CAS you're using. We're trying to run the XMS on a VG30DETT here in the states and need some advice.

Thanks,

You will obviously need the 24+1 disc if you running sequential or the 24+2 disc if you are running banked.

You also need to run the resistors between the 12v supply, ground and the trigger input wire.

What PP are you using??

the stock nissan cas should work if the xms can be set to trigger off the leading edge of the cas pulses, as the width of the stock cas pulses varies..
but i have not personally used a perfect power unit before.

The stock CAS will work but you will need to change the disc to a 24+1 or 24+2 disc. and obviously you need to increase the trigger voltage to the ECU.

so a perfect power unit cannot work with the stock cas disc? also what is the trigger voltage required by the xms? just for future referance..

No it cant, most aftermarket ECUs cannot use the stock disc. Trigger needs to 0-5v and stock CAS gives out 0-0.25v.

Awesome. I really appreciate the prompt replies, this all makes good sense. We'll be running sequential so we'll need the 24-1 replacement disk. Is that something we can find in another CAS unit for a different car or is it an aftermarket part I can purchase and if so, where? If it's from another vehicle, which one?

This is an XMS ecu, by the way.

its a custom made disc.

remove your old, draw up a design of a new one using CAD or something similar - take it to your local lazer cutters to fabricate.

What XMS is it?? XMS v3 can only do sequential for 4 cylinders. The new XMS have a range from 4 cylinder banked to 8 cylinder sequential. Make sure you know what XMS you have before you order the disc. How many ignition outputs do you have??
