To me this looks like a cold start valve or something....can enyone identify this....?

i'm with riekert on that - although some might call it by other names.

basically its there to regulate the vacuum/boost reference to the wastegate.

now i've seen that on the s13, and s14's, but i dont know too much about the older z cars. did this come from your car draco?

Yes, the vacuum line goes through it to the aftermarket FPR, but I bypassed this because when I disconnected the vacuum/boost line from the aftermarket FPR there was no vacuum...telling me that whatever it is, is not working properly....I am almost sure this will not have an influance on my management system because this would have worked with the standard ECU....

well I removed mine and i'm still running stock management :D

if you have AM management, then removing it is probably a good idea. this is because the stock management would have controlled the actuation of the solenoid, meaning that the stock ecu controlled when there was and wasn't vacuum boost going through those pipes!
