Maybe the midgets???

Uhm, plugs maybe!

My car used to do that but it was my BOV not closing in time after venting, thus it would over fuel for a while and start hunting.

Could be a number of things .
What boost are you running? Common problem is that you are over boosting . Your airflow meter can't handle all that air . Etc .
If this is true you are slowly destroying your Motor, turbo etc .
Could be a boost leak too. The simplest and easiest explanation .

Just my thoughts .

Best bet would be a Boost leaks it sucking air causing the car to hunt and to stumble before boost.
Check all you’re piping and pluming and manifold gaskets also your injector O-rings. Spray carburetor cleaner around the gaskets and Pipe connectors while the car is running to see if the rev’s stabilize

Just a little info you will be close to maxing the MAF \ AFM out with just an exhaust, Cone and a few other modification but the Euro CA18 ECU boost cut defense has been set quite high and normal will not cut after a certain RPM but its not all bad news the Stock Euro CA18 and JDM ECU’s run dog rich in the upper part of there fueling curve basically over fueling if the MAF returns the maximum 5.1 Volts (hillbilly but it worked for years)

My Bro ran similer boost and found it was a little high for the standard mods . LIke yousaid exhaust and so on . Try turning down the boost a little . It culd also be creeping Higher in the high revs .

How are you controlling your boost ?
