nice turbo upgrade...

Post by phoenix s14 »

OK so just some news for anyone in the market for a new turbo.

I was just at Mr Turbo. They have a really awesome hybrid turbo on the shelf now.

T28/T3

Basicall a T28 but with a T3 compressor housing and wheel. Think this will be quite a potent lil package for anyone wanting to step up their T25 or even T28.

Retail is R4600 for a brand new one with actuator

Wish I had the bucks to replace my T3/T4 with one of these...

so FYI

Yea I spoke to the guy as well.

But will it work on a stock ecu or do I have to sort out the fueling when I fit it on.

I also got a price on a new T28 for R3900 w/ actuator

It will work... look obviously you would need a retune at some stage to get obtimum out of it but that is that... well depending how much boost you want to run...

obviously you also will have to check that all the stock fitting n stuff fits..

Apparently it will hold 1.5bar on a SR all the way... no problem

on a CA18 it will obviously do even more...

Yea Krikiet, I think you mentioned the Alfy conversion

I searched T28

Do you know who makes the S14 turbos, cos from my understanding the other T28's arent proper bolt on, some are even 1cm off

Where can you get a T28 from a S14?????

Some S14 turbos are bearing as well... so get one of these and stick a bearing centre on it...

LAG? What LAG???? hehehehehehehe I however could not believe how small the T28 exhaust housing was  these t28s are tiny... hehehe would rather have a smaller turbo than my T3/T4... this LAG is really P!55!n9 me off...

Im busy with Riekerts thread on choosing a turbo for his ride, its about 11 pages long, I made it till page 6 before my eyes started burning but so far it seems like Mr Turbo is the way to go....

But I think the T28 of the S15 is ball bearing

Anyways, I guess I drove my S13 for long enough without any problems, 3yrs @ 4000km per month without any problems.

Except a slight oil leak and clutch piston change(R50).

Oh and the belts havent been changed for 5yrs and the exhaust is 17yrs old.

Anyways let the modding begin

Hey man! hehe.... yeah sorry... 11 pages was a bit long... I still say the stock S14 T28 is the best fit/make.

But for a good alternative I will still go for Mr turbo... cheap and effective.

The S14 T28 has a ball bearing compressor side, where the S15 T28 is full ball bearing. Just thought I would let you kow....

Okay with the stock T25 Turbo boost comes in at 3500rpm. WIth the T28/T3 at what rpm range does boost come in?
