strange fuel gauge issue

Post by Doctor G »

So after fitting my walbro pump, I notived the fuel gauge is now laying FAR FAR below the Empty mark:

I pulled the pump out again :poke: but can't see anything wrong. All the soldering connections on the float assembly are in tact and nothing looks out of the ordinary...

What could be wrong here??? :poke:

yeah found the issue yesterday. Car has been "worked on" for 8 months now, so the battery was completely dead. Put a charged battery in and noticed very faint movement on the gauge - but not right yet.

Then I found that the ground wires on the injector wire harness was not connected. (usually goes on the intake manifold, but with the itb's there isn't one). Connected it to the firewall and Bam! there it is. Gauge sits perfect again.

never underestimate the power of an earth wire :P
