Oh yes - the one thing the BMW has to get credit is that spares are fairly cheap and attainable - Bemows!!! Except for the fancy motor - obviously.

Hay Draco...

Can you give us more info on the Honda like what year model is it? What 1.6I V-Tec Motor is it (B16?) What turbo kit has the guy fitted? What compression ratio is it running? What management system is it running? What Turbo? Has he up rated the clutch system? Was the motor opened and if so why and what was changed!

I’m not being rude dude, I totally agreed with you to go with the turbo car at these altitudes and I have seen a number of Tec Turbo’s punish bigger cars it just going to voortrekkers (OK I admit I sometimes go) I have seen many Tec with slap stick turbo conversions that don’t last the night sorry for the long story just explaining why I’m asking all these questions

I would walk away from both, a second hand turbo'd honda and a hack job 318, eish....

As Enzio said, you dont want a 318 body, the 325's and up had discs all round, battery in the boot standard, bigger brakes and MC.

I've also seen how turbo'd honda drivers drive... Honda's arent cheap to fix...

I think in both cases you will be buying someone elses problems :( personally I would find a relatively stock car and start with that, but if you happy with one of these and dont mind the possibility of it all falling apart and needing to fix, then go for it...

No probs bunny man....

before I answer your quiestions, I chose this because this is what is availible and gives the power I am looking for more importantly, my fiance approved this one.....she has the money so can't really tell her tuff what she thinks, I would love an sx or an rwd car but find me one in okayish nick and that beats luminas for 25K....I'll buy it!!!!!

Back to the question bunny, it is a yellow one, I think 96...not sure, it is the B16 engine....imported v-tec, T28 garret turbo, custom manifold built...looks kak but does the job, dicktator management, bigger fuel pump, 550cc injectors, clutch upgraded, not button but "modified" for the power.

standard internals, thicker HG for lower compression.

All this done by smart racing, got all this from them.

Look, I am not fooled here, I know this car has been driven hard for a while, it does not look hot but does what I need at the moment....a play car....

Thanks sokar, this is my reasoning....get a standard car....that needs fixing in anyway, what car for 25k will be good and working...fix it, turbo it, management....injectors...fuel pump....you looking at around 15k just for that depending on commision for installer....

compare that to turbo fail...R3500, or or or....

I already got a quote, if I rebuilt that engine with forged pistons and conrods and all for higher boost, I'd look around 12k....

Draco im not in a position to give advice cause i didnt follow it when i bought my sx. But them old folk say " Haastige hond verbrand sy mond" i know its not easy to wait but they say that when good things come. Im not good at that but i think it would be good if you shop around a bit more.

Well it seems fate has stepped in, the guy is not willing to sell for that price anymore....

and guys....Charl, thanks for the advice, I have shopped...for a while, these were the best I could find to soot my needs....those wise words is wise but everything has a flip side "haastige hond verbrand sy mond" and the flip side "you snooze you looooooooze".

The thing about most sx's...wheteher you buy one for 50k or 30k....chances are you will rebuild it in 3 months of buying it.....in most cases.....but I will keep on searching.....apart from a sx, I would love a nice V8 something......

I am also talking to a guy, busy with a bmw E30 with 2jz twin turbo engin, management and all, but not finished....will see when it's finished 4 25k.

As soon as I have 50k or 40k...which will be in a few years unless I win lotto, I'll start twisting...till then, good luck buddy!!
