See this is what i dont get about a "stroker kit" you cant change the stroke of an enjin with out changing the crank and once that is done do you attach another bit of sleeve between the head and blog for your longer stroke to travel in?

power not sure... but the torque should be massive.

Like I said in my PM, 2.7 or 3.7?

2.7 is common, the 325is were 2.7's so a crank and set of conrods from a 325i will give a 2.7

3.7, thats a little strange, that sounds like the 3.5 straight 6 out of the older shape 735i or 535i with bigger pistons to increase bore? Might be a hack job, also you dont want the old 3.5 motor, they are quite lazy and heavy, the also dont like to rev over 6000rpm because of the rotating weight.

The smaller 6's 323, 325 and 325is are the nice rev happy motors.

For the love of god, dont get a 320i, its a waste of time, 6cyl sound and fuel consumption, with 4 cyl power and a heavy nose.

no - thats not right.

stroker kits do change the stroke of the engine. you either need revised pistons, or crank, and sometimes rods, to make sure that the pistons reach the top of their travel at the same place they did before!

another bit of sleeve between the head and blog is not going to work.

The sleeve bit was a joke. What im saying is that in order to call an enjin a stroker you have to increase the stroke = deferent crank + longer conrods. Why yust not bore the shit out of it and still have something thats willing to rev? Cause a longer stroke might give you alot more talk but it wouldnt rev that well.

Ok....checked out the bimmer last night,318 body, body needs some attention....not too much, 333 engine with a stroker kit to 3.7, gotec pro management.... roughly around 140 kw on the wheels.

Some oil leeks from the tappet cover(because of high compression according to owner)

So what you dudes think?

Sory Derick my fault it a six but something came out in a four maybe the first M3(maybe not here ill check). Did you drive it?

VC it reminds me of my 50cc volume control instead of a throttle.

The 3.3 motor was taken from the 7 series - so it will not be a rev happy thing like a 325is, but will have plenty of torques. Also - if it is in a 318 body I hope it doesn't have 318 brakes (especially find out if it is a 318 master cylinder - they are shit, 318s don't wanna stop cause mc too small - change to a 325 unit).
Some oil leeks from the tappet cover(because of high compression according to owner)
Doubtful of the compression story - stressed BMW 6 cylinder motors are bulletproof except for one thing: Some cylinder heads have a tendency to crack due to a) boost or b)high temps. They can be welded if the crack is obvious but will inevitably fail again - so find out how much for a replacement head before buying.

Will try to rack my brain for other stuff to check for.

The original (E30) M3 was a four cylinder, 2.3 litre and 2.5 litre (Evo and Evo Sport). Had special body panels, suspension, brakes, etc. Was an awesome machine - there are a few of them in SA, owned by collectors.

You will NOT get one of them for R25k though....
