.6 is a bit tight, no?
check it - take plug out, hold against engine (WITH PLIERS!!)
check spark - bigger gap gives bigger spark (up to a point)
too big i've heard that the "flame will get blown out", which i think is BS, but just regurgitating what ive heard - flame away
too small, too cold = carbon
bigger spark = faster than a red s13!

what do you mean - i thought this was normal ???veecee wrote: when i get the car into boost, it misfires, splutters, farts, loss of power, smell of fuel, and very very loud banging noises out the exhuast.
i had a very loud tappet noise the day before,
its the built in misfirespluttersfartpowerlossfuelsmellovision - it often bangs to get rid of the bad stuff inside
and actually, the farts come before the splutter, but seeing that it is a split second, it is a common misconception to the people from nonSXville
there is no cure, but it will make things more easy if you stop going to edenville - why would you do sumfing like that now? weird!
enough talking, time for some screaming

Ok, so iridium or platinum spark plugs cost a lot... BUT.... they last 100,000km! Yes, 100,000km!! So is it still expensive?
And since we're all using 95 unleaded anyway, what's the problem?
BTW, I worked it out once, and it costs a whopping R5 more to fill up on 95 unleaded than 93 unleaded...
But throw in a can of Winn's Fuel System Cleaner, and you get about 100 to 200km more per tank!

Ok, so I exaggerated a *little* bitEro_sennin wrote:Why and how? o and where, Toby? But throw in a can of Winn's Fuel System Cleaner, and you get about 100 to 200km more per tank!

Dunno about the SX 'cos even though I did throw in a can or two, my mile-o-meter goes to sleep every now and then so I never know quite what kind of mileage I'm getting. But you do get an idea and it did improve the mileage on my SX. Try it, guys! It's about R28 from Midas or Makro or Game or probably even your local garage convenience store! (I promise I don't have shares in Wynns

R28 = 4.667l at 6 rand per litre.
at toby's stated 10.7km/l thats an extra 49.9369km's.
and if wynns gives an extra 100km's per bottle then its much more economical!!!
and the wynns is probably a 500ml bottle (thats an assumption).
which means if i buy enough to fill my tank (50l) then i need 100 bottles.
at R28 per bottle, that amounts to R280 for a tank.
at the abovementioned R6/1l petrol normally costs R300.00 to fill my tank.
does that mean that if i use 50 bottles of wynns to fill my tank, and each bottle gives an extra 100km's, that i will get 5000km's per tank of cheaper wynns fuel???
screw BP - i'm going to midas to fill up!!!

I do my own mods:
perforated pistons
shortened dipstick
lightened wipers
gas flowed, waterproofed seats
Diamond sound system 75W tweeters
blue steering wheel cover
genuine TEIN, TOYO and Fram stickers
and how big is this Freddie really?
