WANTED: CA18DET 4-PORT HEAD

Post by WOJ »

Hey Guys,

I'm located on the West side of Australia and I am hearing you guys get the S13 with the 4 port head. I need one and thought I would ask some of you fellow Nissan enthusiasts.

I need the head and first section of the intake manifold. If it includes the standard cams, valves and springs then bonus. If not then at least the camshaft caps (so they match).

I'm willing to pay for sea freight and a small fee for your trouble for the right head. I don't want scrap aluminium, but a good clean head that just needs normal reconditioning and be useful for a build up. I don't want severely warped or twisted, or in need of pad welding and line boring of the cam journals, etc.

I'm not expecting miracles or promises but thought I would ask the question to see what the answer would be. Let me know if anyone has something for me.

Thanks,

WOJ.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome!! :) Just thought I would throw it out there that if you guys need something that you can't get over in RSA let me know and I'll see if I can chase it down for you here in Aust.

This head will really kick start the rebuild.

Thanks again,

Woj.

How are ya Warren?

I'll see what I can do about the rugby... ;) My girlfriend is a bit of a fan of the sport, but is a little one eyed (Wallabies Supporter) I'll have to do something on the sly so she doesn't find out otherwise my car will become my bed too. Ha Ha Ha.

I've been reading some posts on here and more interestingly some of the build ups you guys have been doing there and I have to say that the wealth of information and photos (heaps of photos!!! :) ) have been great for getting ideas, and seeing how "the other side lives".

I think my biggest hurdle is that I want to adapt GT-R multi-throttles onto the CA. I think this will give me some great bottom / mid range which is what I want for my street car. I'll keep you posted. Just waiting on a 4 port head....... ;)

Hey man, you know what they say about a woman scorned, so BE CAREFUL!!!

Yeah, some of the projects guys are doing over here are really something! But I'm pretty interested in what you guys down under are up to! are you part of a club or something? Got a website?

The unfortunate thing about car modding here, are the ridiculous prices of parts, and the lack thereof  . But we make a plan :) Plus its nigh on impossible to get hold of some of the really exotic imports here too, the government doesn't want us to drive Supra's around unfortunatley!

And on the picture front, we are completely obsessed with pictures! Nobody dares write an article about ANYTHING without posting pictures, hehe, its quite weird actually...

So yeah, hit us up with info about how things happen your side, I'm interrested to know! And, you know, if you can, please post PICS!!!

Cheers

I don't have a website, I know, I know... living in the age of technology and all that. Get off your soap box!! LOL!!! :D :D

I'm going to be helping a really good friend of mine put a CA18DET into an R32 GTS-T. We've got the car. We've got the motor(s). It will be of a similar thing to what Top Secret did in the GT-300 Supra a number of years back. It will be a dedicated drift / track car. V-mounted intercooler / radiator, top mount turbo, etc...etc..... As soon as progress is started I'll be sure to post up some pics to show you what we're cookin'. Some small house 'chores' need to be finished first then we'll have time and room to pull it apart and start mocking it up.

If there is something that you guys need that we have over here and the price of shipping (weight orientated) doesn't kill the viability of getting it send me a post!! I mean I've contacted you guys here about a 4 port head as you have them in abundance compared to us so I'm happy to help any one of you if I can. :D

I'm just a huge fan of posting pictures / photos / sketches. "A picture is worth a 1000 words" I really do hate the people that put a site together and just describe everything in words. Then to fit it all in they use a size 10 font. Now I don't know about you if I wanted that sort of literature I'd pick up and read the phone book. When it comes to websites, I'm a minimalist; less is more. It's just so much easier to explain something with a series of pics than it is with an essay.

VeeCee,

I'm pretty much a self titled silviawa.com, nissansilvia.com and ebay whore!! javascript:emoticon('') :D No, I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm a wog (Eastern European descent) and we are world renowned for either doing it ourselves or screwing down the price till we get a bargain.

Unfortunately for a 4 port head the only avenue was Europe. The freight really was boarding on unrealistic for just getting a head, but since I have discovered you guys <tear rolling down the cheek> I might have a good opportunity to get this project off the ground, and have some money left over to throw at some ancillaries.
