Lower strut braces??

Post by Gary57 »

I read somewhere that the lower strut braces also make a HUGE difference to the handling of the sx, anyone else read this?? Do you think it would make big difference?? The way I see it is, having the top supported you are limiting the movement of the top saddles and restricting the movement of the whole struts. Now if you prevent all movement you have everything possible besides a roll cage?!

Gary, Dont bother, they do near ziltch, the nismo powerbrace in the front helps a little but not much, not near as much as a front or rear strut brace,

For a S13 i would sugest makign ure own rear one, make it out of some nice thick wall aluminum tube and have some atleast 6mm bolt on gussets made to bolt onto ure shock towers and have it tig welded together, the main reason the S13 is so flimsy body wise compared to the S14 is the huge boot opening which takes a lot of regitity out, a good thick strut brace in the rear helps a hell of a lot :)

Roll Cage would be cool but not very pretty now very practical.

poly bushes and sub frame spacers are a good idea to realy firm up the control arm and sub frame movment, and then obviously coil overs.

Do you guys have a pick of where the poly bushes go? I'm finding it difficult to see where the subframe is.

the poly bushes go everywhere there is a squishy piece of rubber that holds an arm, a rod, a bar in place against the body!!!

the subframe ones go where the rear subframe bolts onto the body!!!

i have pics and articles - but they are not hosted anywhere online, so it seems i cant upload them.

pm me with your email address and i will send them.
