Post by Jay_boy »

guys my windows cable broke and its a sealed unit so went to nissan to find out what they can do for me so they told me will have to buy the whole assembly as its a sealed unit, they priced it for me at R1800 and that was a good price the guy told me :-) ya right want me to pay that much for just a cable that broke ya rite! So gona strip it open and see if i can manage to change the cable myself and re seal it :-) anyone else had this problem sofar?

Is it not possible to re-attach the broken cable using a metal clip and a crimping tool or something?

cant wait for some guy to decide if hes gona sell some parts or not need my window fixt asap and already tried using a clamp and didnt work there is just way too much stress putt on it it just comes off again and its right on the tip there is not enough cable to make another plan, cant extend the cable cos it uses the whole length that goes over a series of pully's so my only opting is to strips the sealed unit open and see if i can get another piece of cable in there and re seal it :-(

dunno if this will work/help

but i had a sabre with AM electric windows - those you buy from autostyle. And the doohicky also snapped.

I pulled into sandton sound and security (ie. any car audio/alarm spot) and ask them to look at it.

Think they also replaced some stuff - ended up costing me 650.

Maybe they can look at it for you? only prob is obviously then you might have 2 different speeds re: the window motors?

Had the same problem with my first SX. But yes I opened the sealed unit & resealed it again...The thing worked for ever after that....maybe I should patent it?
