What if they die and I can't find decent replacements.
This is my major issue and with it the old afm. That is why I think to go the gotech/diktator or what ever route.

I had a look it the systems as well, and i think they will work very good!

Can you perhaps give a rough estimate on the cost?

Allso,are you running a CA18 ecu?

Thanks,

Each coil is only triggered by the ECU, it has its own 12v line directly to it. What you will be doing is firing it twice, not sharing the current but sharing the trigger. With a 4ms charge time there is no problem with the coils charging so you wont get any breakdown at high rpm.
sorry , how do you share the trigger , but not the current?

the illustration is using a gotech pro with the original coilpacks... not the stock setup

to be 100% accurate, this is what the pic should look like ,since the stock ignitor earths the coils.. the point remains valid though..

The stock ignitor will just earth 2 coils at once, where will the current be lost?? Each coil has its own +12v supply so will all have an equally strong spark?!

You may have an issue around 7000rpm with regards to charge timing, but most dont rev past that anyway.

ah ok, i see where we are talking past each other.. the gotech ecu cannot trigger the stock ignitor

so if you use the gotech built in ignitors, you end up using one ignitor for two coils..

the gotech has its own drivers.

4 of them if you get the TS version.

so you dont need the ignitor.

im talking about the gotech pro... which has 3 drivers.. meaning you you would have to use 1 driver for two coils

you would not need to use wasted spark if you have four ignition drivers

yes i know you mean gotech pro...

but like i said before - the gotech dudes will convert your PRO to the TS version so that you can have the 4 drivers.

then... no problem!

went to visit the dudes at gotech this morning to have my gotech pro converted to the TS version - with 4 ignition drivers.

it took all of 10 minutes and my ECU was handed back to me.

fantastic service in my opinion!!!

cant wait now to get this sr20det running!

I have a speedlab piggyback chip. Now I have all the tools to flash the chip, but I need a tuning program, to tune it...
