I hate to say it but there is no real growth on the forum one person says something against the grain and his a freaking devil, posts just cycle here (Same thing gets posted over and over)and its sad because this forum lost a lot of good people. You always have something to say even if its not constructive you always have to be the top man here
And I liked this forum I mean a 200sx club in South Africa its great
i guess i must've turned into a real dick lately???
Yes you have, It was a total uncalled for response when I sent you a mail trying to help and you where blatantly rude back.
You lost a lot of respect there.
listen bud...
i'd appreciate it if you didnt make statements about me that you cant back up.
i do post a lot on this forum. the reason? i really enjoy this forum, the people here, and the 200sx enthusiasm. i do not dictate anything to anyone, but i will question statements that i dont understand, dont believe, or cant agree with. thats what debating is about.
being the top man here - that is entirely not my reason for posting so much. please understand that i will not stop posting as much as i do, because i am interested in keeping this forum going. i have seen too many forums fail, because the forum members kept everthing serious and only posted comments that were topic relevent, and that had not been posted before. second to being a repository for information regarding 200sx's, this forum is also a place for 200sx owners to speak to like minded individuals regarding other issues, and to make and grow friendships with people with common interests.
pinkfluffybunnies, phinx, ashley (or whatever you would prefer???) you seem to be very defensive with your posts about technical issues. statements like "the world can start turning again" and "i give in, you win" and the like, only serve to put people's backs up. those kinds of comments lead other people into making argumentative statements and perpetuate your self-destructive cycle that you seem to get yourself into.
i have not once insulted you personally on this forum, nor in person. yet you immediately insult me, and then contact my friends to tell them how much of a "dick" i am. that too, i REALLY DO NOT appreciate.
as for losing your respect - well, that doesnt phase me at all to be honest. if you cannot take a joke, which my reply to your email clearly was, then i dont actually know how to respond to you. i think you were being oversensitive about the whole thing. my "blatantly rude" reply to your email was in my opinion humerous, i was drawing on the irony relayed in the fact that the item you offered me, actually already belonged to me.
i actually responded to your email where you called me a "dick" with an apology - and i dont know what else you want me to do??? but you were already pissed off with me, so i am assuming you just ignored that - again perpetuating your own opinion of how much of an asshole i am.
so i really think that its very very LOW of you to do what you did, as well as extremely immature to simply remove all of your posts about the ECU. that was valuable information that many people had an strong interest in - and you selfishly removed all of it just because we were trying to establish the credibility of the statements that you had made.
i think you should try to follow some guidelines that i learnt at varsity - any information that was not yours, ideas that come from other people and text that has been written by other people should be referenced correctly. similar to the way that 300sx posted about the ABS braking system - he clearly stated that it was not his info that he posted, but that he was referencing another persons article. this gave him a lot more credibility.
i think if you do this, then your own credibility wont come into question, you wont have to be on the defensive all the time, and petty little arguments and disagreements like this wont happen. people wont be personally attacked, and everyone can go about learning more about these fabulous cars that we own.
i also think that you should perhaps desensitize yourself a little bit, specially when it comes to the comments made by other people on a public forum. most people aren't intentionally attacking you personally, they are just questioning your statements, whether they be yours personally or a reference to information gathered from other resources!
ciao!
