Stay on topic please guys. Dont make me post serious cat!
I for one enjoy the "arguing" as long as it doesnt get out of hand. It lets me, as someone who doesnt know alot, see the diffrent view points.
People should just not be offended so easily, nobody is attacking you personally
Off topic stuff ends here!

hey mario,
pinkfluff knows exactly why i posted the "I must've turned into a real dick lately" post.
other than that i was posting exactly what i observed, unbiased. he seems to relish the controversial topics, but gets really upset when people dont agree with him.
then i asked a totally relevent question - i.e. where does the ECU map he has come from??? did he download from his ECU or from the net???
i.e. how do we know its the same as the one we got with our south african 200sx's, which are a european spec by the way. this can be ascertained byt decoding the VIN (?) number of the car.

Dude I see the same “slack” (increased fueling) in the SR code and the RB25/RB26/RB30 codeWhy must he set an example, because he is a moderator??
Yes he has alot of knowledge about ECU but something simple like how a MAF works is VERY different to how a AFM works. Thinking the Nissan engineers left some slack in the fuel map for us to fit exhausts and cone filters , I doubt that. Phinx I aint attcking you, you sent me the software, I had a look at the map I dont believe that that map is the one in our cars; the timing map doesnt even work to the 15degrees we see on idle.
The software I sent you is some freeware stuff. If you don’t believe the Map that your decision but there is a lot of CA18 powered cars running around with that map in AUS
I mean Nizan-r’s car ran that map and I have confirmed with him that the car does smoke at high Rpm with both the aftermarket and STOCK ECU we have checked this.
Now I know what a MAF is and what a AFM is but there was models that had a separate IAT sensor and used an enrichment table along with the TP value that was my point but typical I didn’t know what I was talking about just like you and there being no pin for the speed sensor.
I have full consult on my car and I can confirm my base timing it 15 degrees, while the idle sensor is active the Idle circuit runs of a fixed base value those are RAW values (converted HEX) on the timing map not filtered values maybe if you read up first or asked nicely I would have explained.
The Maps have not been pulled or thumb sucked from the net they have been pulled from Valid ECU’s by this company , The feature both the ECU’s units Serial number and MEC-D00 number but you didn’t read my other post because I Explained this there before I removed it.as i understand you've downloaded the maps of the 'net somewhere. How sure are you that the maps you are defending are exactly the same as the stock maps loaded into the stock SA ECU???
There are also 15 maps in my collection for the CA18DET powered S-13 the picture that was up confirmed that the serial number and MEC-D00 number match my 1992 and 1993 ECU
So now unless Nissan stuck the wrong sticker on or changed the map at the last second this is it that map file.
If it acts like a duck , looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then there’s a good chance it’s a duck
Nissan never intended for us to modify the ECU but with the use of address file we can decrypt what is in the stock ECU. Many big name company have done this like JUN and Mines it can be seen on the latest EVO’s and R35 and older 300zx ,200sx and 180sx’salso - the program you are using to read and change the maps, how sure are you that it is the same as the one that the nissan engineers used for the SA ECU's???
VeeCee you’re a moderator Not a Dictator,. The Forum is about information and info sharing not a post whore competition. I hate to say it but there is no real growth on the forum one person says something against the grain and his a freaking devil, posts just cycle here (Same thing gets posted over and over)and its sad because this forum lost a lot of good people. You always have something to say even if its not constructive you always have to be the top man here
And I liked this forum I mean a 200sx club in South Africa its great
Yes you have, It was a total uncalled for response when I sent you a mail trying to help and you where blatantly rude back.i guess i must've turned into a real dick lately???
You lost a lot of respect there.

Pink I did ask you about the timing map, I got no reply. I am really eager to get a proper ignition map, I was just asking if this is the map found on the stock sx here.
Which sx's came with an IAT sensor and where was it mounted??
If I bought a car brand new and it smoked at high rpm I would be seriously pissed. Yes stock maps run a safety margin but not so safe that they smoke!?
I never said there IS NO PIN, I said I dont THINK there is one, this means I am not sure and could be wrong.
I have had it when a CA18DET does not make the idle contact and idles high, it DOES NOT idle at 40 odd degrees advanced.
I agree with you that we have lost a lot of knowledgable people on this forum and I wish they were back. BUT and this is a big BUT, you are only right untill you are wrong and if you are wrong Ill say so. I am not a complete chop that believes everything from people with experiance, that is why most people dont get along with me... because they cant talk kak to me like everyone else.

It smokes I have seen it with my own eyes , its not bad its not that ring kind of smoke you can see its black and fueling related. If I bought a car brand new and it smoked at high rpm I would be seriously pissed. Yes stock maps run a safety margin but not so safe that they smoke!?
Those are unfiltered values minus the 15degree base to get a more acurate readingI have had it when a CA18DET does not make the idle contact and idles high, it DOES NOT idle at 40 odd degrees advanced.
Yes but your also dont know everything, Just becuase you think its wrong doesnt mean it is.I agree with you that we have lost a lot of knowledgable people on this forum and I wish they were back. If anyone ever cared to double check there FSM then you would have known the ECU can read speed.I never said there IS NO PIN, I said I dont THINK there is one, this means I am not sure and could be wrong.

The Idle circuit runs of a fixed base value till the throttal is lifted off Idle then the timing map will come into play.
There is a temp enrichment graph and cold timing increase graph

from what I understand, this whole argument started with a controversial speed limiter in the ca18 ecu.
a cursory google reveals this:
http://www.turbokillers.com/oldwww/arty ... 20info.doc
and this:
http://www.northwestnissans.com/board/s ... hp?t=22647
no speed sensor on European spec ECU for CA18
However there is a speed sensor on the SR20 ECU. (pin 32)
EDIT!
I stand corrected. on CA18 the speed sensor is pin 53.
Has anyone got a wire connected to this pin on their ECU? and can they trace it?
