Just forwarding this from Turbophonic. He doesnt have access to the Forum during the day....... Help a brother out here please.

Turbophonic:
I took the coil packs off my car last night as the motor has a few flat spots under load.
cleaned the packs up,and when removing the plastic boot(red rubber suff at the bottom)i notice that two of them had a metal tabk at the
end of the spring that touches the spark plu(tab prob makes contact with top of spark plug)...and the others didnt(just the spring)...is this possibly causing the packs not to fire?or have a weak spark??
anything els ei can check regarding getting rid of those flat spots/missis??
Rolling Thunder..........

The important thing is for the spring is to touch the spark plug. But I have done the following: Take these old eveready AA batteries. open them and use that inside black/gray pin to replace inside those springs that you are talking about.
I also thought that could be a misfiring problem and still suspect it up to today. I constantly check to see if those replacement battery things are touching the spark plug. Better than that I don't know and I am open for negotiations

LOL - anyway - i've read that the jap version of some sparkplugs are different to the versions that the rest of the world gets. they are longer/shorter. so on the same spark plug number you get a different length, which could mean that you have poor connections if you have the shorter plug!!!

Man,typing from fone a bitch!anyway, thaks 4 advice.using NGK plugs duel pin,no gap req.no cracks in the coil packs, did a similar battery MaGyver move.still miss under load.plugs when out, smell heavy of fuel.wen reving and missing, xzorst fumes smell heavy of fuel.earthing is sorted with xtra earth wires.so thus far,i think it is either coil packs themselves or fueling.thats all i got so far, checking 4 coil packs 2 test if mine r faulty.
