problem?

Post by AR 200SX »

hey guys.have this new problem with my car.i drive normally until operating temp,as soon as i hit the gas my car gets to about 3500-4000 rpm and then cuts out followed with one or two loud backfires, then it's completely dead for about 1-2min. it does this about 6-7 times maybe more and it stops completely.i am running dicktator with wasted spark on my sr20det,i had this proble previously and found the pick up plate on the cas to be the probl. i then made a new one on a cnc wire eroder. then it was fine for about 2-3 monts. now it has started again. any ideas?? it's driving me insane.

hmmm - i dunno...

have you checked the usual suspects?

the dicktator
the coils
the signal cable continuity
the CAS-tigger system
etc?

if you are using the CAS as a trigger wheel then you need to check that it is giving the right signals at the right time...

this will be according to the dicktator system, but i dont know much about tuning software (yet), so im not to sure how to help!

I had the same thing on RAT's sx with a dicktator. There is a bad power feed from the Dicktator to the fuel pump, also the trigger signal is varying in the Tator.

Reason for this is you used a short loom and connected it straight to the main loom. The wires in the stock loom dont go to where the manual says they do, they often link a few sensor earths together.

You need to try sort the wiring out... have fun. Or run a complete new loom.

i have a seperate loom for the dicktator.all the wiring from the stock box are pulled back into the car. i suspect either the cas or dicktator box,
