Dump valve fitment

OK, it does kinda help with that... but it also adds some negatives.
If mr Driftmeister hasnt bought the valve yet, why not look at fitting a diverter valve? Basically the same as a dump valve, but it will push the air from after the IC back into the pipe after the MAF, before the turbo...?
This will keep the engine management very happy. However there will be no dump sound at all, but if thats the reason you're fitting it, its the wrong reason!

Sokar is correct,
There are some negatives involved with using a dump valve or BOV.
Like ero said, fuel consumption, because your car runs richer on the time you change gears. Your airflow sensor is fooled so it runs richer. Wiki BOV and it gives a good explination.
If you use a recurculating BOV that would not be a problem. But you will not have that sound. As Sokar said, if you are doing it for the sound, it the wrong reason.
Im boosting just ova 1bar, and it is far too high, and I run a hybrid turbo, so I put on a BOV (Hanco's one for now, till my new one is fitted).
You can feel the difference between shifts, doesnt make your car make more power, but makes you utelise(spelling???) your power better.
What type of cons are you also reffering to Sokar?
