Always a big Question.. Parts!!!

Post by m.i.g »

Hey guys .. this is my first time in this SX forum, A guy from S&S forums told me to check this out.. I like!!

My Ca engine is sitting in my garage collecting dust..
I swoped it out for a Rb25Det

Anyways lets get to my Q..

For The CA engine.. where do you guys get parts for the thing..
I DO NOT go to the nissan dealers coz they Rip the crap out of you in prices.

I wanna put it into my nissan hardbody.. but it needs to be redone..
Just remember I can get a whole engine for R5000 so parts MUST be way cheaper than that

Many parts is widely available you just need to know what to ask for...

For engine ask for 1800 Sentra with a CA18
Gearbox Nissan 1 tonner matches most parts
Clutch Nissan Skyline with a CA20

I'm on my 2nd CA engine now, busy rebuilding 3rd I've sourced most parts AM and havn't had troubles...

And dont mention 200SX, I've actually seen people's eyes turn into dollar signs as soon as I've said that at a parts counter, either that or they just say they dont stock, they wont even check the catalogs for what parts are compatible.... :(

Also, there are quite a few part off the CA20 Skyline motor that will work, Phinx's Waterpump is off a CA20

Agree I never mention 200SX... The guys will either think your talking about a 200STi or something or as Sokar said not even check the catalogs...

I carry a hell of alot in stock for the RB's, what i dont have in stock doesnt take long to get.

You will find near NOTHING in sa for a RB, considering no version of RB was ever sold in SA and all their parts are fairly unique.

Ian, how different is the SA built RB30 Skyline from the RB25/26 ? Is it possible to fit the multi valve head from the RB25/25 to the RB30? Would make a nice big bore engine... Think project sleeper...
