what is the size of the banjo bolt that will fit into a Garrett T28(off the S14) oil feed fitting?lost the bolt that came with the braided hose,so im stumpded for measurments.
also....how do i identify if the T28 i have is ball bearing or not???the guy i bought it from says it a journal bearing, but ppl i show the turbo to say it seems to be a BB??? as i believe the above question will influence the choice of oil feed to the turbo, and im not sure
The bolt is either a 19 or a 17, not sure of the pitch.
I doubt the turbo is a BB, most of the T28's in SA are off S14 SR20's and they were thrust bearing, to be sure you can probably google the part number of the turbo, BB turbo's require a oil restrictor as the oil is just used for lubrication and cooling and not the "integrity" of the bearing and doesnt need as much.
the T28 i got i recieved from NZ,so that is why im not sure?
i found some serial codes on the web..will check tonight, also dont think it is a BB as the turbo i bought was wayyyy too cheap
also found a website saying it takes a 14 banjo bolt??
okay...found some codes on the web that corrispond to the serial codes on the turbo.....
my code reads as follows:
YB0158J(manufactor place and date...not sure how to read that)
14411-75F00(means this comes for a NZ issue S14)
466543-1(means the turbo is a journal/bush bearing turbo)
so ya....intresting stuff this
still need to know about the size of that banjo bolt needed
