whats wrong with it exactly. I just took mine apart and did it myself.
The SX being my only car doesnt give me a choice to take anything in and wait for them.
I went to a local parts shop with samples in hand and got everything i needed. cost me 40 bucks i think

Sounds like just brushes to me. I ended up with some bosch brushes that i had to file down to fit...worked a charm

Jaja VC, i did that b4 the days of the forum. Took me 2 1/2 hours to get the starter off  and 5 min to put it back

Yeah tried it on another cars battery too Vaughn.

Cool Daniel. I'm gonna strip it and go to the spare shops to get new "brushes". PS: What do brushes look like?

And do you just replace these little parts or is there any soldering and stuff involved?

brushes are little cubes of carbon usually!!!

normally quite easy to replace. they'll have a slot to fit into, or some sort of mechanism to hold them in place.

they create the contact between the spinning part of the motor, and the electrics. so they are a wear and tear item, and occasionally need replacing!

its also the reason you cant use electrical tools when working with carbon fibre! the carbon dust gets in everywhere and stuffs up the eletronics!
