SMT 6 Piggy-Back
Hi, is there anyone out there that has sucessfully installed the Perfect Power SMT 6 piggy-back chip? I have a guy down here in DBN that is struggling. The fueling is no problem. He can't seem to get the correct signal for setting the timing. Any help will be appreciated. PS. he has been talking to the chip guys up in JHB. So far no luck.

He is struggling to connect the RPM signal. Can I get this guy to call you? Please if you don't mind...he's had the car since Teusday last week. If you agree, please PM your contact number and I will pass it over to him.

He is speaking to Peter as far as I know. Up until Friday he was not able to solve the problem. The last I heard was that Peter was going to install a chip onto a friends 200SX and see if he gets the same situation. Maybe there is some trick in wiring up the RPM signal that you know of?

Hmmm its been awhile since I did a S13 so I cant remember which wires I used. However to the best of my knowledge none of the piggybacks understand understand the CAS signal and they all interrupt the signal out of the ECU to the ignitor.
The problem with the S13's is they run individual coils so there are 4 wires out to the ignitor.
There is a solution as I have chipped them in the past and they work well.
As a suggestion I would try interupting the cam reference wire going into the ECU this should allow the timing to be changed.
So find the correct wire cut it and join pin 20 on the SMT 6 to the engine side and Pin 8 to the ecu side.

I dont do injector testing. Why do you want them changed?would you be able to check out my injectors and match them up for new ones
