Hi Guys...
Just wondering what oils everyone is using...
I ahve so far used the Edge 10W60, worked well for about a month, then lifters got noisy again, tried a mobil - that not having a great effect either, I'm just wondering if I should try the mobil 1.
Also, I've heard people say that the SHell Rotella diesel oil is good to use in Turbo'ed cars, just needs to be changed more regularly - any truth in this ? anybody here doing this ?
Thanks Guys.

Maybe your lifters are just gone.
I use Castrol SLX, it used to be call TXT Softec.
PS: what ever happened to the CA18DET that you were selling??

I believe in a slightly thicker oil... the water thin stuff tend to leak and make lifters noisy... I use Castrol Edge (Non Sport) got Sport in now, because they were out of stock for the Non-Sport, was much happier with plain Castrol Edge...
Lost a turbo twice because of Castrol Magnatec

Mobil 1 !
0w40 a bit thin for the turbo'd cars I think.
But they do make a 15w50 mobil 1. I buy them in 1L bottles at certain engen garages.

SLX 0w-40 is used in all the BMW petrol and diesel motors including the 335i twin turbo petrol.

Your CA18DET -20 years ago...
If your oil seals seated for thick oil they will leak with thin oil

I must agree with valde, the 200sx needs a slightly thicker oil. Dont go too thin, ur just looking for trouble!
